Greenmodeling was founded by Justin Rowell, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina who graduated from North Carolina State University with a BSc (hons) in Environmental Engineering. He is also a certified Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rater. Having worked on projects in the US, Africa and Europe, Justin has a uniquely diverse and global perspective on environmental stewardship. His upbringing and familiarity with the American culture and climate provided the context for these experiences to be applied in a meaningful way here in the US.
Justin has long had an interest in environmental and social stewardship. The subject has lately been in the spotlight with the recent popularity of the "green" movement. However, this popularity can often be exploited purely for profit at the expense of unwitting consumers with little or no true benefit to the environment we live in. This phenomenon of falsely promoting products and services as "green" is known as green washing. Nevertheless, the popularity and energy of the "green" movement can be utilized to promote and encourage the practice of more sustainable ways of living. The places that we live and work are the best places to start.
For this reason, Justin created Greenmodeling in order to offer an alternative to such green washing practices and help communities make a true and lasting difference on the environment in which we live.
